Festival History
The Railway City Music and Arts Festival has a rich history that dates back to 1994. It all began with a group of passionate citizens who envisioned an accessible street festival within the city, offering something for all ages to enjoy. Over the next 25 years, the festival grew significantly, becoming a cherished local tradition. However, the journey wasn’t without its challenges, including the lack of a permanent location for the festival.
In 2022, after a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival organizers decided to refocus on their core mission: to bring together talented artists and performers from the area, with a strong emphasis on music and arts. This renewed focus also included securing a permanent home for the festival. Due to funding and volunteer constraints, the 2023 festival was condensed to a single day.
Now, the Railway City Music and Arts Festival has found its new home in Pinafore Park. This beautiful location sets the stage for a multi-day celebration of talent from St. Thomas and its surrounding areas. Attendees can look forward to discovering a diverse range of artists, musicians, and performers.
