Treading Zero Begins Recording Full-Length Hard Rock Album for Summer 2026 Release
Treading Zero has officially entered the studio to begin recording a new full-length hard rock album scheduled for release in Summer 2026.
After months of writing and development, the band has completed 11 new songs that will form the foundation of the upcoming record. The new material builds on the band’s evolving modern hard rock sound, combining heavy riffs, dynamic arrangements, and emotionally driven songwriting.
The recording process once again brings together a team of trusted collaborators who have played an important role in shaping the band’s recent releases.
Siegfried Meier — Recording Producer
Producer, engineer, mixer, and songwriter Siegfried Meier is leading the recording sessions at Beach Road Studios, located on the shores of Lake Huron. Over his career he has worked with artists including Kittie, Face to Face, DMX, and Helix.
The band’s relationship with Siegfried goes back many years, including earlier recording projects and workshops at his studio. Most recently, he worked with the band on the single “Brittle,” recording the drums and primary guitar tracks while organizing the multi-studio workflow used to complete the project.
With the new album now underway, Treading Zero is once again working with Siegfried to capture the powerful performances and sonic depth that define the band’s sound.
João Carvalho — Mastering
The album will once again be mastered by João Carvalho, whose mastering career began in the mid-1990s working with many of Canada’s most influential artists. In 2003 he opened João Carvalho Mastering, and in 2011 he partnered with colleagues to launch Revolution Recording, a three-studio complex in Toronto that has become a premier destination for recording artists.
João has mastered recordings for a wide range of acclaimed artists including Rush, The Tragically Hip, k.d. lang, Carly Rae Jepsen, Sloan, Lights, BADBADNOTGOOD, The Smashing Pumpkins, Passenger, The Sheepdogs, and Buffy Sainte-Marie, among many others.
He first worked with guitarist Rob Butterwick in 2019 while mastering recordings for a previous band, and has since mastered every Treading Zero release. His experience and precision continue to provide the final polish that brings the band’s recordings to life.
With recording sessions now underway, the band looks forward to sharing more updates as the album progresses toward its Summer 2026 release.
